Our Company provides supply chain and transportation services to clients throughout Texas. We operate clean, highly secure, and professional fulfillment and warehousing services in our facilities in Austin and San Antonio. Our warehouse management system allows us to scan all products and provide our clients with online visibility to their inventory.

We operate a fleet of tractor trailers based at those two facilities proving intra Texas freight transport. Our drivers are uniformed, the equipment well maintained and clean, with excellent communications and a friendly, can do attitude.

Mission of the Position:                                                                                                                

The primary role of the Warehouse Manager is to provide unparalleled customer service in alignment with our core values through the daily coordination of all warehouse activities with the needs of internal and external customers.  This role is accountable for the fulfillment of our brand promise and our core value of Happy Clients. Warehouse Managers are key to our organization as they provide the daily assignments to the warehouse departments to meet all customer needs. This role utilizes their knowledge of our warehouse processes to lead the shipping, receiving, loading, and storing of our customer’s inventory.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads Intelligent Cartage Warehouse services in offering unparalleled customer service.
  • Acts as a Champion of “Happy Clients” and leads by example to ensure the team offers unparalleled customer service.
  • Keeps a daily tactical pulse on the warehouse departmental goals, objectives and KPI’s, including, but not limited to ensuring effective communications (internal and external), quote integrity, warehouse safety and client accountability.
  • Ensures achievement of all departmental goals, KPI’s and overall revenue and profit targets as defined per month, quarter and annually. Manages and fully responsible for departmental P&L statement.
  • Assists in the responsibilities of industry-related compliance (i.e. D.O.T, OSHA, TSA, certification renewals, etc.) and ensures that all applicable regulations and/or legislation is considered and factored into key decisions.
  • Leads the warehouse team to successfully achieve goals using effective communication, conflict resolution and process management.
  • Possesses exceptional organizational and effective manager skills, which translates into a presentation ready warehouse at all times.
  • Effectively forecasts impending workload accordingly to execute all projects successfully and on time.
  • Assists in the creation of warehouse policies, processes, inventory control methods, change management, safety policy and team communication strategies.
  • Assists in performance/compensation reviews and any progressive disciplinary actions for assigned team members in coordination with the Director of Team Happiness as appropriate.
  • Ensures effective communication and feedback to the Cartage Warehouse team members and other key stakeholders including regular team huddle meetings and during 1:1 meeting with team members.
  • Assists with the hiring process, including interviews and onboarding as needed. Leads role-specific and department-specific training within department.
  • Trains team member on warehouse equipment usage including pallet jacks, forklifts, scan guns, label printers, scales, smart phone, and various computer software with a safety focus.
  • Provides unparalleled customer service by developing outstanding working relationships with internal partners, external vendors and our clients.
  • Procures supplier cost confirmation and obtains appropriate approval for payment. Handles on-time customer account billing and quotes.
  • Orders warehouse supplies and other warehouse tools as necessary and proactively.
  • Possesses knowledge regarding of all processes and equipment utilized in warehouse and cartage operations, including safety protocols.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:

Schedule: Full-time

Travel: Minimal, 15% to 25% of the time

Key Criteria/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant industry certification is preferred. At least 3-5  years of logistics/supply chain/warehouse experience is preferred. Must be tech savvy as this role will be responsible for database management and all software components. Proven team management experience or demonstrated business management equivalent, at least 3-5 year is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Proven ability to identify areas of opportunity within the macro process. Proven ability to supervise, delegate and distribute tasks in an environment with rapid change.

Physical Requirements:  Position requires: ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of medium to heavy weights of 25-75 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.  The noise level in the work environment is low.
